Good Day from Southsea - Shooting with a Drone Part 1

Updated: Nov 10, 2019

This is the blog of Ian Crowson Photography. Here are thoughts and advice about taking photos with a drone or a camera. Crow's-eye went aerial.

Drone photo of Southsea's South Parade Pier by Ian Crowson Photography

Another aerial shot of Southsea's South Parade Pier taken in June 2019. I took this before 0600 in the morning. Firstly to get the light, long shadows look great in aerial photos. Also before many people were about who might not like drones. Hope all those flats on the sea front have their curtains drawn!

I used my DJI Inspire 2 drone with Zenmuse 5XS camera. This gimballed camera takes a range of lenses, DJI, Olympus and Panasonic micro 4/3. Here I used my DJI 15mm

(30mm full frame) .Height was near the maximum allowed in the UK of 120m/400feet. See the Drone Code Here

The ship approaching Portsmouth Harbour entrance is the Condor Commodore Clipper ferry arriving from the Channel Islands. Info here.

Lots more to come about drone photography, filming, portraits and loads of photo stuff

Bye from crow's-eye,
